The 精东影业 ISD Board of Trustees has unanimously called for a bond election to be held on Saturday, May 2, 2026, for voter consideration. The proposal is based on recommendations from the community-led Capital Needs Steering Committee (CNSC) following several months of review of district facilities, programs, and enrollment trends. The Board approved the election order during its February 5听meeting.听

The bond proposal includes three propositions addressing districtwide听facilities and programs:听

  • ADA compliance and life safety improvements听
  • Modernization听of existing school facilities听
  • Additions and renovations to听schools听
  • Replacement听of South Davis Elementary听School听plus听another听new听replacement elementary school听
  • Capital听improvements听
  • Academic equipment and program improvements, including fine arts and special education听
  • Safety and security听upgrades听
  • Transportation improvements

Proposition B听$30,955,000:听

  • Technology improvements听
  • Student and staff devices听
  • Cybersecurity听modernization听
  • Telecommunications and infrastructure improvements

Proposition C听$31,565,000:听

  • Athletic improvements for secondary schools听
  • Synthetic turf and athletic equipment installation, replacement, and upgrades听

Bond Election Background听

精东影业 ISD conducted听a听comprehensive,听independent听third-party听review听of its听facilities and听infrastructure听to听identify听projects for consideration in the bond proposal. This process included evaluating the听Facility听Condition听Index听and capacity of all existing schools, as well as听identifying听potential improvements听across district departments.听

The听CNSC听鈥撎齧ade up听of parents and non-parents, educators, business owners, civic leaders, and community members听鈥撎齬eviewed information related to enrollment trends, facility conditions, projected costs, and potential tax implications for 精东影业 ISD residents.听Ultimately, the听CNSC听provided recommendations to the 精东影业 ISD Board of Trustees for听facilities and听identified听capital听improvements听through 2029 to support the听district鈥檚 strategic plan.听

Based on current financial projections and existing debt obligations, the proposed bond projects can be funded with an estimated one-cent increase to 精东影业 ISD鈥檚 current tax rate. The district has continued to lower its tax rate while paying off voter-approved debt early, resulting in more than $40 million in principal and interest savings through bond refinancing.听

To participate in the听May 2, 2026, bond election,鈥痠ndividuals must听reside听within 精东影业 ISD boundaries and be听registered to vote in Tarrant County by April 2, 2026.鈥疺oter registration status may be confirmed at .听

Registered voters may cast ballots at any polling location in Tarrant County. Polls will be open from听7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on election day, Saturday, May 2, 2026. Early voting by personal appearance will take place from鈥疢onday, April 20, 2026, through Tuesday, April 28, 2026.听
